What’s it like being a school nurse??
I am considering being a school nurse now.
What is the income like?
How much of a difference do you feel you make in the well being of the children?
Is there even very much you are allowed to do?
Are you the type to just pop an acetominophen in their mouths and send them off or do you actually try and heal them with natural remedies and such? (hot / cold compress, hydrating, reccomending teas/herbs/ etc to the parents?)

I am considering being a school nurse now, but am also interested in being a teacher (all grade levels k-university levels, including art teacher) being a doula, a midwife, eventually obtaining a naturopathic physician degree and opening a holistic based school in the far off future…
Also, what else could I do with these interests if you dread your job and could reccomend another field of work.
the school nurse in our area can only give meds that a doctor had written orders for. If you see a sick child he cannot be given any med just because you think he should have it. His parents must pick him up from school. Your primary job is making sure the records are up to date in the computer. watch kids vomit, call parents to pick up children with high fevers….Even provide a change of cloths when a child wets himself.
