If you ever had candida after taking antibiotics,how long did it take you to heal?and what was your protocol?
I had Lyme last yr. and “believe” I may not have it anymore since I had caught it early. So after the Doxy antibiotic was taken for several weeks, to make a long story short, it turns out I may have been suffering from candida on and off for several months now. The symptoms mimic many of the lyme symptoms, although ’some’ are different~ANYWAY am seeing a specialist next week.
IF YOU EVER had candida, did your doctor prescribe a different antibiotic to rid this condition? Or did you choose to go the natural route w/herbs, more probiotcs, etc. to kill it off.
I just read that if someone has this, that it takes 4-12 months to heal from it!
AND WHAT OTHER stuff did you take to help eliminate candida from your body?

It’s common to have both Lyme and candida at the same time. So there’s a good chance it’s not *just* candida. Shame on that first doctor for not insisting you take strong probiotics while you were taking doxycycline.
There are prescription antifungals such as Diflucan, Nystatin tablets, Amphotericin B capsules from a compounding pharmacy, etc.

You’ll probably need to alternate several different herbs and drugs, because candida will become resistant if you take the same thing nonstop for too long.
Be prepared for herxing. Candida herxes can be as strong as Lyme herxes.
Of course it is very important to take probiotics as well. But they will probably not be enough. Some good brands are Bio-K Plus, Theralac, and Florastor, which is a beneficial yeast. You’ll need to take the Florastor away from the candida drugs and herbs, because they will deactivate it.
Candida feeds on sugar, alcohol, vinegar, and breads. You can look up some anti-candida diets. It is a lot of work to stay on the diet, but do your best.
Most doctors refuse to acknowledge the existence of systemic candida. If that happens to you, you’ll probably need to see a Lyme doctor affiliated with ILADS or a naturopathic physician.
